Feeling like you need to shake off the lethargy of winter? The Body Mind Spirit Festival, this weekend at Addington Raceway and Events Centre, is the perfect opportunity.
This is the 21st festival organised by mother and son team, Glen and Deryn Tregurtha, and their biggest so far, with more stallholders, and more international speakers than ever before.
“People often tell us that the festival is so much more than they thought it would be – they’re not sure why they waited so long to come along.”
Glen quotes Thomas Vasquex, “No one ever discovered anything new by colouring inside the lines,” and believes for a lot of people, life is all about having to stay inside the lines.
“This is an opportunity to step outside the same-same lines of what we know, and explore new approaches to health and happiness.”
The Body Mind Spirit Festival is a twice-yearly fixture on the Christchurch events calendar, bringing together over one hundred different stallholders and two full days of free workshops and seminars.
“As the festival grows, it attracts more international speakers,” says Glen.
As well as demonstrations and performances on the main stage, there are opportunities to join in with sessions like laughter yoga, active Chi Kung, and Chakra Dance, exploring spirituality from a physical perspective.
